As we reported last week, Austrians are some of the best non-native English speakers in the world – placing seventh place out of 63 countries.
Austrians in every age group outperform European averages, with those aged 18-24 speaking the best English – and they even beat their arch rivals, the Germans.
And while we agree that Austrians should be proud to have mastered the English language so well, we thought it might be worth reminding them that there is always room for improvement.
With that in mind (and fully acknowledging that the average Austrian's English skills far outweigh our abilities in German) we've compiled a list of the ten most common mistakes Austrians make when speaking English.
