A Frenchman was so angry that a doctor refused to give him a sick note that he returned a short while after his appointment, this time armed with a rifle.
The sales rep reportedly threatened a practitioner at the surgery in Izeaux, near the south eastern city of Grenoble, before opening fire.
He fired off two shots inside the surgery, thankfully without injuring anyone.
The man eventually regained his calm and voluntarily went off to the police station, where he told officers he had cracked after being “hassled and humiliated” by his boss at work.
He had no previous criminal history but he was nevertheless sentenced to 30 months in prison by a court in Grenoble, 18 of which were suspended.
So in the end, he achieved his aim of not going to work, although clearly not in the way he had initially set out to.
