Zurich authorities have announced that swimming facilities will be reopened from Monday, May 11th as the country’s most populous canton continues to slowly wind down its lockdown restrictions.
The use of these facilities will however be restricted to clubs and organised groups.
Use will be limited to five people at a time and locations will be required to submit a ‘protection concept’, similar to that which gyms must submit in order to reopen.
Swimming facilities include municipal indoor swim halls and summer pools.
While members and clubs will be allowed to use these facilities from Monday onwards, they will be opened to the general public from June 8th.
Gyms to also require ‘protection plan’
Gyms will be permitted to open from May 11th, but they will also need to adopt a protection plan.
This includes disinfecting devices, putting sufficient distance between gym goers and avoiding body contact.
