Racist Inter Milan fans force partial stadium ban

Inter Milan have been hit with a partial stadium ban after Napoli's Senegal defender Kalidou Koulibaly was the victim of racist abuse at the side's last league meeting, Serie A officials have announced.

Koulibaly was subject to sporadic monkey chants from groups of hardline ultra fans in the Curva Nord section of the San Siro two weeks ago when Napoli lost 2-0.

Serie A officials usually sanction clubs in the days following such incidents but due to a “technical problem” only released details of the punishment on Thursday.

It means a section of the third row of seating at the ground will be closed for Inter's next home game, against Udinese on Saturday, although a repeat of such incidents will “lead to the closure of the entire third row of seating in the stadium”, said a statement.

Inter were also slapped with a €15,000 fine for the supporters' racist behaviour.

It is not the first time Koulibaly has been subject to racism this season.

The towering Senegal international fell victim to monkey chants while playing at Lazio in February, an incident that prompted thousands of Napoli fans to don masks depicting the defender in their following home game.

Meanwhile, Frosinone midfielder Yussif Raman Chibsah will miss three of the season's last four league games after being handed a three-game ban for insulting the referee during a 5-1 defeat to Chievo last weekend that saw the Ghanaian sent off for a second bookable offence.

VIDEO: Spain’s La Liga reviews video of boy racially abusing Vinicius

Spain's La Liga on Monday said it was reviewing a video of a child making racist insults towards Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior during the 2-2 draw with Valencia at the weekend.

“We’re in the process of studying and analysing the facts from a legal standpoint to see what we can and should do,” La Liga sources said.

In a video published by a journalist for ESPN Brasil, and picked up by Spanish media, a boy sitting in a woman’s lap can be heard calling Vinicius a “monkey”.

The Brazilian scored twice for Madrid as his team recovered from two goals down at Mestalla on Saturday.

Vinicius raised his fist in a “Black Power” salute after the first of his two goals at a ground where he was racially abused last season. Valencia subsequently banned three people from the stadium for life.

The 23-year-old has become a symbol of the fight against discrimination in Spanish football after suffering racist abuse on many occasions, and he was jeered repeatedly by home supporters on Saturday.

Jude Bellingham was sent off after the final whistle against Valencia for protesting after the referee blew the final whistle right before the England midfielder headed home what he thought was the winning goal.
