FC Paderborn were in enough trouble as it was.

Languishing in the nether regions of the second division of German football, the club hadn’t won a game in seven matches.

But on a team trip to Turkey, the western German club were exposed to a new scandal, when key player Nick Proschwitz flashed his privates in front of a female member of staff.

The incident happened shortly after midnight in the team’s five-star hotel, Bild reports.

Proschwitz, apparently under the influence of alcohol, pulled down his trousers for roughly 20 seconds in front of a female employee of the company which organized the training camp, the mass market tabloid reports.

The team has now taken tough action against the player, with the president suggesting his career with the second-leaguers is now over.

“Nick Proschwitz doesn’t belong to our squad anymore. I looked into the issue and have taken the necessary action,” club president Wilfried Finke told Bild.

“A player who reveals himself in front of a woman in a foreign country will not be tolerated by us,” he added.

Finke previously told the Neue Westfälsiche Zeitung that he “couldn’t see that player wearing the team’s colours again.”

Proschwitz – who spent three years in England with Hull City and Brentford – defended himself by saying “I didn’t have any pants on under my jogging trousers. One of the lads pulled my trousers down – but that was only for a second or so.”

The woman who allegedly was victim to the flashing also criticized media coverage of the incident on Monday.

“At no point was I sexually harassed,” she told news agency Dpa. “The only thing that has harassed me is the false media reports.”

“We barely noticed the fact that a player came into the room, pulled his trousers down and then immediately left,” she added.

In 19 appearances for FC Paderborn this season the 29-year-old Proschwitz had scored five goals.

The club are managed by legendary ex-Bayern Munich captain Steffen Effenberg. But after he took over early in the season, their fortunes have failed to improve.

VIDEO: Spain’s La Liga reviews video of boy racially abusing Vinicius

Spain's La Liga on Monday said it was reviewing a video of a child making racist insults towards Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior during the 2-2 draw with Valencia at the weekend.

“We’re in the process of studying and analysing the facts from a legal standpoint to see what we can and should do,” La Liga sources said.

In a video published by a journalist for ESPN Brasil, and picked up by Spanish media, a boy sitting in a woman’s lap can be heard calling Vinicius a “monkey”.

The Brazilian scored twice for Madrid as his team recovered from two goals down at Mestalla on Saturday.

Vinicius raised his fist in a “Black Power” salute after the first of his two goals at a ground where he was racially abused last season. Valencia subsequently banned three people from the stadium for life.

The 23-year-old has become a symbol of the fight against discrimination in Spanish football after suffering racist abuse on many occasions, and he was jeered repeatedly by home supporters on Saturday.

Jude Bellingham was sent off after the final whistle against Valencia for protesting after the referee blew the final whistle right before the England midfielder headed home what he thought was the winning goal.
