The 25-year-old is returning to the club on a season loan after a lacklustre year with the English club, Liverpool.

But bosses at AC Milan are determined to prevent his wayward antics from blighting the club’s image and performance, and so inserted a code of conduct – based on rules applied to those serving in the Italian Air Force – into his contract, Gazzetta dello Sport reported.

Balotelli will be banned from any behaviour, including indulging in locker-room pranks, that “might undermine the serenity” of the club, the newspaper said.

A social media enthusiast, the footballer will also have to make sure his Facebook, Twitter and Instagram posts do not tarnish the club’s reputation.

He has also been told to wear clothes that are more in line with the club’s conservative style and to maintain a clean bill of health, meaning drinking alcohol and smoking are banned.

In an interview published by the newspaper on Thursday, Balotelli promised to obey the rules.

“I’m a changed man,” he said.

“I'm 25 years old, no longer a child. And I threw away too many chances already.”

Balotelli also hopes the move back will pave the way for a return to Italy’s national side so that he can fulfill the dying wish of his adoptive father Francesco, who passed away in July, to play for the country again at next year's European Championship in France.
