Sex or food? Poll reveals top French past-time

The French are well-known for being mad about cuisine, and have a reputation as passionate lovers. But what happens when the two are in competition? The results of a survey revealed on Tuesday have raised a few eyebrows.

French women and men may love good food, but they are equally famous for their penchant for sex.

So when offered the choice between cooking and, well, making love, which activity wins out?

According to a new survey, it’s not even close.

Fully 62 percent of respondents said they would prefer a day in the kitchen, as opposed to the paltry seven percent who would opt for a day between the sheets.

The poll, commissioned by the website Eat Your Box, and reported by French regional daily l’Est Republicain, asked more than 15,000 men and women in France what their favourite pastime was during bad weather.

By far the most popular was cooking, followed by “sitting in front of the TV all day”, at almost 28 percent.

Only seven percent would opt for an adventure in the bedroom, and just three percent chose the unthinkable – going outside and braving the elements.
