An angry driver blocked at the top of the Bagnolet exit, in northern Paris, called the police, telling them the procession was driving very slowly, even “stopping completely in the middle of the four lanes” this weekend.
Some drivers tried to get past the block by zigzagging through the emergency lanes.
When police arrived at the scene, they spoke to motorists who confirmed the story.
Police said this kind of stunt can have an effect on traffic long after the block has moved on.
The culprits could face up to and a €4,500 fine, as well as their driving licences being suspended and six points being deducted.
