The man, who was born in 1938, was rushed to Kristianstad hospital late Wednesday, according to the local Blekinges Läns Tidning (BLT) daily.
The man’s clothes became entangled in the power socket of the vehicle which meant that he was dragged into the machinery and risked being strangled.
He called for help and his son came his aid, but had to resort to cutting off his father’s arm in order to save him.
Both father and son were taken to the hospital after the incident which was brought to the attention of the emergency services at around 7pm on Wednesday.
