Female cyclist bitten by attacker

A female cyclist in central Sweden was assaulted on Sunday night by two men, one of whom left bite marks on her left arm.

The 18-year-old woman was riding along a bike path in Motala in central Sweden when she was attacked at 2am on Sunday night by two men in dark clothes, reported MVT newspaper.

“One of them bit her on her lower left arm and they also pulled her hair. She had clear bite marks on her arm,” Christer Pettersson of the Motala police told TT news agency.

The woman went into shock and has foggy recollections of what happened next, although she didn’t recognize either of her assailants.

Authorities don’t consider the attack to be an attempted rape.

“Nothing indicates (it was attempted rape), and we are looking at it as an assault,” Pettersson said.

Woman reports gang rape at cemetery

A 25-year-old woman has told police she was raped by three men at a cemetery in Motala in south central Sweden on Friday night.

“She told us she was held down and raped,” said police inspector Torbjörn Lindqvist.

The woman was on her way home from a party at the time. She said she was not acquainted with any of her attackers.

“Afterwards she came in to the emergency ward and explained what had happened,” said Lindqvist.

The woman was questioned by police in Linköping on Saturday morning. The interview was carried out by staff trained in dealing with rape victims.

She was then to be taken to hospital for treatment and tests. Torbjörn Lindqvist said he “couldn’t speculate” on the woman’s psychological condition.

Police have not yet made any arrests and had no leads to work on in the period immediately after the alleged attack.

“But we have technicians working at the cemetery and hopefully we’ll be able to find something,” said Lindqvist.
