Wilhelmsson’s left is th examined using an MRI on Wednesday in order to determine the severity of the suspected rupture.
“It seems this injury is serious,” Swedish coach Lars Lagerbäck told reporters.
“I don’t think it’s possible he can play against Spain (on Saturday) and if it is serious then he’ll not be able to feature against Russia (on June 18) either,” Lagerbäck said.
Wilhelmsson went off clutching the back of his right thigh 12 minutes before the end of Tuesday’s game.
