The knife attack occurred in a staff area. “There was blood everywhere,” said an eyewitness.

Police and the emergency services were quickly on the scene, and the male victim was rushed by ambulance to the University Hospital MAS at 4:45 pm. One hour later the police announced that the man had died from his injuries.

A 35-year-old male suspect was detained nearby.

“He was captured in a nearby café,” said police spokesman, Micke Persson. It is not clear whether the victim and his attacker knew each other.
