Are you a Christmas liberal who thinks we need the sparkly cheer to make it through November, or does the long wait just make it more special when the festive lights suddenly start appearing in everyone's windows?
And when should you start? Many Swedes say December 1st or the First Sunday in Advent, which this year happen to coincide, but should you wait even as long as Lucia? Or do you have another date in mind?
We asked The Local's readers, and your answers were pretty clear.
First, let's look at our Facebook poll, which had a total of 616 votes.
Of those, 64 percent said that Christmas lights should go up on December 1st.
We were able to include more options in the Twitter poll, but December 1st still won with the backing of 48 percent of 302 respondents. A total of 28 percent advised to wait until December 13th, the day when Swedes celebrate Saint Lucia, and 24 percent said just get your Christmas lights up there now.

Here's a selection of some of our favourite comments:
Advent lights go up the Saturday before the first Sunday of Advent, no further Christmas decorations until the 23rd December!

Mine are already up, I feel like it's less depressing when I have them up especially when the winter comes early like this year.
