It was first reported that 19.9C had been measured in the university town of Uppsala on Sunday. But on Monday morning weather agency SMHI said that temperatures had in fact climbed to a whopping 20.2C.
“We'll have to see if we break that today,” meteorologist Lisa Frost told the TT newswire.
Stockholm also broke a record on Sunday, albeit not one quite as impressive. The mercury edged towards 18C in the afternoon, breaking the previous March record of 17C back in 1968.

Other towns and places that saw their temperatures break the 19C barrier on Sunday were Torsby, Arvika, Västerås and Arlanda, according to the TT news agency.
We hope you enjoyed it while it lasted. Temperatures are set to drop again later this week, with the forecast for Stockhom predicting 6C on Thursday, dropping to -3C overnight.
SMHI has also issued a warning for strong winds in northern Sweden on Monday, from Gävleborg county all the way up to Norrbotten, and a grass fire warning for south-eastern Sweden.
