Police visited the home in Angern an der March of a 51-year-old man after a confidential informer gave them a tip, and found an indoor cannabis plantation along with one kilogram of dried flowers.  In total, the man is believed to have produced six kilograms of cannabis for his own personal use.

The narcotics group from the police district of Gänserndorf received the information that the grow operation was taking place in a residential building.  After preliminary investigations, they executed a search warrant this week, and seized the drugs and indoor growing equipment.

After interrogation, that man admitted that he had been growing the cannabis plants since 2010 for his personal use.   During this period, he consumed approximately six kilograms of the herb.   He was charged with cultivation of a controlled substance, and will face trial later in the year.
