"Wild Wilma has brought air from the polar regions to all of Germany," the DWD said in a statement. "In the coming week, Wilma will continue to rule the weather."

Squalls can be expected in the northern lowlands and southern mountain regions.

"The North Sea coast can expect heavy rains, including thunderstorms," said the DWD.

Heavy wind gusts are also expected throughout the northern regions of the country. Even the sunny South can expect to see it's summer days pushed out by Wilma by Tuesday afternoon.

The DWD added that rains are expected across the country, with the exception of the north eastern part of the country, where it's expected to stay dry until Thursday.
