The British artist, whose identity is largely unknown, will have works displayed on Hudiksvallsgatan in the capital on March 23rd. News of his exhibition in Stockholm was revealed by Sveriges Television (SVT) which received an unsigned letter with details of the show.
The letter, titled "Banksy in Stockholm: This must be the place," said the show would be "his first official unofficial exhibition in Sweden".
As ever with the artist, who has been using the pseudonym of Banksy since the nineties, there was precious little revealed in the cryptic letter.

An anonymous source with links to the international street art world told SVT that it should be "taken as a given" that Banksy would be in the Swedish capital.
"I know it will happen but I can't say more than that," added the source.
In addition to the anonymous letter a number of advertising hoardings, with details of the show, have been spotted in Stockholm.

Last January it was reported by TV4 news that a Banksy work in Malmö was attracting major interest from art collectors.
Banksy fans are unlikely to catch a glimpse of the man himself as he has managed to conceal his identity despite numerous attempts to unmask him.
Apparently Banksy is coming to Stockholm. I wish he would do Malmo. He could totally paint on my wall.

The anonymous letter to SVT added that Stockholm would be reminded of his exhibit Barely Legal held in Los Angeles back in 2006.
The Banksy exhibition will between 1pm – 4pm on March 23rd on Hudiksvallsgatan in Stockholm.
