Morrissey to headline Nobel prize concert
Norway's Nobel Peace Prize organisers have signed up Morrissey, the former Smiths lead singer, to headline the concert at next month's official prize-giving, in a sign he may have been forgiven by Norwegians for arguing that factory farming was worse than Anders Breivik's 2011 massacre.

Two years ago the vegetarian pop icon outraged Norwegians when he compared Anders Breivik’s massacre on Utøya to the millions of animals slaughtered daily for food.
“We all live in a murderous world, as the events in Norway have shown,” Morrissey said before performing the song Meat is Murder at a concert in Warsaw, and then added:”Though that is nothing compared to what happens in McDonald’s and Kentucky Fried shit every day.”
The concert comes only two months after the reclusive pop star sent fans across the world rushing to the Swedish city of Gothenburg, after announcing at short notice that he would hold a book signing there.
The book signing in October, the only one for the singer’s memoir Autobiography, drew hundreds of fans from as far as the US.
English singer-songwriter Jake Bugg, veteran Swedish rapper Timbuktu, and the Syrian world music favourite Omar Souleyman will also perform.
Claire Danes, the American actress who stars in Homeland, will compere the concert.
