Number treated for coronavirus in hospital in Norway rises for second day

The number of people being treated for coronavirus in hospitals in Norway has risen for the second day running and is now back to where it was more than two weeks ago.

Number treated for coronavirus in hospital in Norway rises for second day
According to the latest report from the Directorate of Health, there are now 18 people being treated for coronavirus in Norwegian hospitals, up from 16 on Wednesday and 12 on Tuesday.

The number being treated had been falling steadily from a peak of 325 seen on April 1st.

The rise comes as the World Health Organisation's Europe director Hans Kluge warned that the lifting of restrictions around the continent had led to the first rise in weekly cases in months.

On the bright side, however, he said that the authorities in Poland, Germany, Spain and Israel had all managed to isolate and end outbreaks at schools, coal mines, and slaughterhouses.
