Each of the four bottles of wine had pictures of Hitler on their labels while one also included the Nazi salute Sieg Heil, the Augsburger Allgemeine (AA) reports.
Police were alerted to the illegal goods when a member of the public noticed them standing on bar of the pub.
A police spokesperson told the AA that there was no indication the 49-year-old pub owner had links to the far-right scene.
The pub owner said that he had been given the bottles as a present and said he had found them “funny”. He claimed not to know that in Germany labelling containing references to the Nazis is illegal.
Police are investigating the possibility that the man broke Paragraph 86 of the German constitution, prohibiting the use of symbols associated with unconstitutional organizations.
People found guilty of breaking this law face up to three years in jail.
Germany has very strict laws pertaining to how people talk about or display symbols relating to the Nazi past, and those suspected of glorifying Hitler's rule are often investigated by police.
In July authorities conducted the first ever nationwide raids against people suspected of praising the Nazi regime on Facebook groups.
