Zlatan takes just 190 seconds to make mark

New signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored an acrobatic scissor kick within four minutes of pulling on a Manchester United shirt for the first time in a 5-2 friendly rout of Galatasaray on Saturday.

The Swedish superstar forward, who moved from Paris Saint Germain in the summer, was finally unleashed by new manager Jose Mourinho in Gothenburg in his native Sweden.

He had hardly broken sweat when, after just 190 seconds, Antonio Valencia — who was to grab three assists in all — swung over a deep cross and Ibrahimovic swung a right boot at it.

It was not the cleanest of volleys — and Mourinho barely acknowledged the goal — but it was enough to bounce into the ground and into the top corner to deceive Fernando Muslera in the Galatasaray goal.

The 34-year-old Ibrahimovic was replaced at the break, when Galatasaray led 2-1 through Sinan Gumus and Bruma.

Wayne Rooney scored a second-half brace and Marouane Fellaini and Juan Mata were also on the scoresheet as United came on strong after half-time.

Zlatan has been ‘cured’ of coronavirus: AC Milan

Milan confirmed in a statement that the Swedish striker had “tested negative” twice in a row, as stipulated in the protocol to be able to lift the quarantine procedure.

Ibrahimovic, 39, sounded a more triumphal note on his social media: “You are cured! The health authority says the quarantine is over, you can go out!”, he wrote on Twitter.

The announcement comes a day after Milan said Ibrahimovic had tested positive a second time for Covid-19, putting in doubt his participation in the Milan derby on October 17.

Ibrahimovic first tested positive on September 24.

The derby remains in doubt with two other Milan players and five from Inter currently in self-quarantine.

In spite of his absence, Milan have made a decent start to the season, having climbed to second in Serie A after winning all three of their games and reaching the group stages of the Europa League.
