Monuments across the Swedish capital were lit up in the colours of the Belgian flag on Wednesday night in a show of solidarity with Brussels. Stockholm's tallest building, the Kaknäs Tower, was one of them.

“We're mourning with Brussels,” said Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Löfven when he paid tribute to the victims and denounced the attacks on Tuesday. “This strikes at the democratic node of Europe.”
The flag was left on half mast outside the Belgian Embassy in Stockholm. A book of condolences was available for those wishing to leave a message of support.

Stockholm's Tele2 Arena, which is right next to the Globe Arena where Eurovision Song Contest 2016 is set to be held in May this year, was also lit up.

More than 30 people died in Tuesday's bombings and around 200 were injured. New Karolinska Solna, a hospital being built north of Stockholm, also took the opportunity to pay tribute to victims.

A minute of silence was held in several locations across Sweden on Wednesday. In Stockholm, the government gathered for a silent moment to remember the victims at 3pm. Below are flowers and candles left on the steps of the Belgian Embassy in Stockholm.
