Norway farmer tattoos cow on right buttock

Two young dairy farmers have raised eyebrows in Norway after one got a picture of a Norwegian Red cattle tattooed on his right buttock and the other got one on his left shoulder.

“The cow is the coolest. I work with them almost every day, so why not?” Magnus Line, 18, told The Local when asked about his choice of bottom tattoo.

“I love to work with cows,” continued. “I like the way that every cow has its own personality and the way they produce so much food for people.”

Line’s bottom now sports a motif of a cow’s head along with the letters NRF, which stands for Norsk rødt fe, the traditional Norwegian breed he works with on his farm in Ålgard, south of Stavanger.

By a total coincidence, Thor Helge Garborg, a farmer in nearby Bryne, had done his own, slightly more arty, cow tattoo, a month previously.

So when Magnus Line posted his tattoo on Facebook, and it was passed around the local farmers, Garborg felt moved to upload a picture of his own tattoo to the forum.

“I guess, I just wanted a tattoo and I’m a milk farmer, so I decided to get a cow,” he told The Local. “I love cows. Nothing more than that. I just like cows.”

He said the tattoo artist had based the tattoo on a photograph of a Norwegian Red she had found on the internet.

“It’s not my cow, the tattoo artist wanted a red cow because then she could see the details.” he said “Most of the comments I get is that it’s beautiful, or something like that, if I get any comments at all.”
