Sorry Denmark, summer is cancelled (for now)

Before you read any further, we remind you that we are only the messenger. 

 

Last week we reported that Denmark’s cold spring weather was finally going to give way to summer-like conditions. 

 

After suffering through a colder-than-normal May, meteorology institute DMI promised that relief would be on the way by Wednesday of this week. 

 

Unfortunately, that is no longer the case. 

 

DMI’s latest forecast calls for the clouds and rain to stick around a bit longer and for temperatures to max out at 15C. 

 

To get that long-awaited summer, we now have to wait until Saturday. But even then it will only arrive in parts of the country. 

 

“Funen and Zealand will get a blast of warmth Saturday with temperatures around 25 degrees. Jutland, and particularly northern Jutland, will on the other hand experience clouds that bring rainy weather with them. So the idea that summer comes this week is likely stretching it a bit,” meteorologist Thyge Rasmussen told Berlingske Nyhedsbureau.

 

Whether this should really be any consolation or not is up to the individual reader to decide, but Rasmussen did promise that “we will have a regular, fine Danish summer”.
