The Spanish National Police arrested the owner of an insurance company, on suspicion of committing a “crime against honour”.

The 39-year-old reportedly wanted to seek revenge against two female clients after they did not renew their home insurance with his company, said the police in a statement released on Thursday.

The man then took their contact information and placed it in an advertisement online, offering “free sex”.

The ad received more than 75 views online in the short time that it was published and caused the women to receive “numerous calls and messages”, police said.

Police received a complaint on November 26th last year from the two women. On the same day, one of the women received a message asking about the advertisement and offering to have sex with her.

This led the woman to find that someone had placed the ad without her consent, offering “all kinds of sexual services”.

After one of the women also reported having an argument with someone at an insurance company about not renewing home insurance, the police discovered that the ad had been produced by that same company and arrested the author.

The suspect has been released with charges after testifying and will have to appear again in court at a time not yet specified.
