World record stunt burn succeeds in Passail

While using several layers of Nomex clothing and fire gel weighing a combined 50 kg, Joe — known locally as Seppe — enthralled the audience of around 1,500 people as he ran around the town square, followed closely by a safety team of local fire fighters.

Watched by his wife and children and hundreds of supporters, the attempt smashed the previous record of 162m, with Joe reaching a distance of 196.57m.

Joe will be making further record attempts at the nearby Teichalm in June.
