The 29-year-old woman going by the name of Babsi was recognized because of her breasts, and reported to church authorities for making a solo porn film in a small church in the Austrian town of Hörsching.
Prosecutor Alfred Schaumüller asked what made her decide to make the porn film in a church – in response, she said "Believe me, if you see what other people get up to, I'm really an angel."
The young woman, who was born in Poland but lives permanently in Austria, was careful to keep her face hidden from the camera (which she also operated.)
Unfortunately, an eagle-eyed police informant recognized her from her breasts, and tipped-off police after an appeal for information when the video was first made public.
Local priest Bernhard Pauer had informed police after one of his parishioners recognized the interior of the Hörsching church while viewing porn on his computer.
The film shows the woman exposing and fondling her breasts while seated on a pew, as well as using a sex toy on herself. She also held a book which may be a hymnal, as well as a rosary and cross around her neck, but doesn't appear to be engaged in the usual forms of worship.
At the end of the trial, the young woman was given a suspended sentence of three months, and ordered to pay a fine of €5,350, or around half of the proceeds she made from the video. She has also apologized to the priest.
Babsi said after the trial: "To be honest I find the whole thing completely inhuman. I didn't have any idea it was illegal."
"But I am proud of the fact that the whole country has been looking at these videos, it's because I'm simply really good at what I do."
