The 15-year-old Norwegian turned down the chance to be included in the world-famous Football Manager 2015 which is produced by software company Sports Interactive.

On Wednesday his father Hans Erik granted the developers permission to include the young star as his son will turn 16 in December.

Miles Jacobson, studio director of Sports Interactive, celebrated the deal and tweeted: "I said if we got parental permission, Ødegaard would be added to #FM15."

There is another early Christmas gift for Martin Ødegaard after sources announced he would train with Liverpool for one week in December.

The player has also been invited by Manchester United and Ajax, the Daily Mail reported.

Ødegaard’s current contract with Norwegian club side Strømsgodset expires at the close of the 2015 season.

In an interview with German newspaper Bild and asked about his future, Ødegaard said: "I didn’t think that far. I will finish playing this season, and then I will visit some clubs. I don't know which one will be my next club.”
