40 yobs wreck girls’ taco party in Norway

40 Norwegian youths gatecrashed and caused havoc at a taco evening on Saturday organised by a group of teenage girls in south-east Norway.

The incident happened at a house in Follo where a group of five teenage girls were gathered for a quiet taco evening.

Rumours of a home-alone party spread among other youths in the town and suddenly the girls faced 40 uninvited youths aged between 16 and 20-years-old trying to gatecrash their party.

The gang forced their way into the house and began to cause damage and mayhem, even demanding the girl whose house it was and her invited guests to leave.

The police were alerted at 11.25pm on Saturday night after one girl got breathing problems during the incident. When they arrived at the house, many of the uninvited youths had already left the scene and others were told to leave,

Police chief Leif Olav Holten said: “The call received was that there was a lot of cheering, screaming and destruction inside at the address. At that time, the party was completely out of control."

“Two girls were under the influence of alcohol. One of them was driven home by the police; the other girl was picked up by her father,” confirmed Holten.

Two weeks ago, a similar incident occurred near to the same residence. It started with a party or a birthday celebration and ended up with a fire extinguisher being set off inside the house.

Holten said: “This is a combination of alcohol and lack of respect; it is pure devilry. These two cases are worth drawing attention to, so as to avoid that it becomes a new sport among young people. The advice to young party hosts is ally yourself with some adults who you might contact if anything goes wrong. Good agreements between young people and adults are always a good starting-point.”

The police contacted the child welfare authorities of Oppegård following the incident.
