Where’s the best place to live in Italy?

If you have to work, then choosing where to live in Italy is usually a case of opting for the more industrial north over the south.

But where is better for other key criteria such as education, healthcare and safety?

You might be surprised to learn that Italy is one of the best in the world for healthcare and safety, according to the OECD Regional Well-Being study, with only slight variations in standards between its 20 regions.

The south meanwhile fares better than the north when it comes to the environment.

But it won't come as a shock to learn that Italy doesn't lead the way with jobs and incomes.

The OECD study looked at regions in 34 of the world’s richest countries, rating them out of 10 on nine factors: income, jobs, health, access to services, environment , education, safety, civic engagement and housing.
