Britney, and her undies, coming to Denmark

Pop star and fashion icon will launch her new lingerie collection in Copenhagen later this month.

The US star Britney Spears will arrive in Denmark on September 25th for a special European launch show of her ‘Intimate Britney Spears’ brand.

She will appear at Forum for what promoters say will be “an unforgettable evening”. There will be live music from Danish pop stars Joey Moe and Ida Corr, while models – but not Spears herself – show off the wares on Denmark's longest catwalk and biggest big screen. There is also the promise of a performance from an unnamed "special guest", but it is unlikely to be Britney herself as the language clearly refers to a male. The pop star will give an interview on stage during the show, however.

Spears announced on Twitter she is also set for launch events in London, Germany, Poland and Norway. Dates have yet to be confirmed.
'Intimate Britney Spears’ has its US and Canada premiere on Tuesday at the NYC Public Library in New York where the pop icon will make a guest appearance.

The sleepwear was created and designed by Spears in conjunction with lingerie producers Change of Denmark. The collection features lingerie sets, bustiers, kimonos and night gowns.

Change has 170 stores across 11 countries and Britney is a co-owner of the label.

Clays Walther, Change's director, stated in a company press release: “It was actually Britney Spears who asked us if we could make a ‘brand’ together. In the beginning we didn't quite know which leg to stand on, but when she showed us her ideas, we were not in doubt anymore.”

France taken to European Court over divorce ruling that woman had ‘marital duty’ to have sex with husband

A case has been brought against France at the European Court of Human Rights by a woman who lost a divorce case after judges ruled against her because she refused to have sex with her husband.

The woman, who has not been named, has brought the case with the backing of two French feminist groups, arguing that the French court ruling contravened human rights legislation by “interference in private life” and “violation of physical integrity”.

It comes after a ruling in the Appeals Court in Versailles which pronounced a fault divorce in 2019 because of her refusal to have sex with her husband.

The court ruled that the facts of the case “established by the admission of the wife, constitute a serious and renewed violation of the duties and obligations of marriage making intolerable the maintenance of a shared life”.

Feminist groups Fondation des femmes (Women’s Foundation) and Collectif féministe contre le viol (Feminist Collective against Rape) have backed her appeal, deploring the fact that French justice “continues to impose the marital duty” and “thus denying the right of women to consent or not to sexual relations”.

“Marriage is not and should not be a sexual servitude,” the joint statement says, pointing out that in 47 percent of the 94,000 recorded rapes and attempted rapes per year, the aggressor is the spouse or ex-spouse of the victim.
