Monday's fresh poll results showed that if the election was today, the opposing Social Democrats, Left Party (Vänsterpartiet), and Green Party (Miljöpartiet) would get 46.5 percent of the votes.
The Alliance, meanwhile, would earn 38.8 percent.
"We can catch up," noted Moderate Party spokesman Kent Persson.
The results marked a definite improvement for the government, which has jumped 2 percentage points compared to a survey last week – meaning the gap between blocs has closed to 7.7 percentage points.
Elsewhere, the Sweden Democrats dropped to 10.9 percent, as did the Feminist Initiative, which earned 2.3 percent of support.
The survey was conducted by pollsters United Minds for the Aftonbladet newspaper.
