The photo was snapped during a visit by Queen Letizia and her husband King Felipe to Madrid's Kinépolis cinema on Friday evening to watch the summer blockbuster Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.
It features a casual-looking Letizia — a former newsreader — in a yellow t-shirt with two smiling teenage fans.
The teens described Spain's new queen as very friendly, and told Spain's Europa Press news agency she had chatted with them for a while.
The royal couple were "good a good king and queen" but "even better people", they said.

Many Spanish papers said the existence of the photo was further proof that King Felipe and Queen Letizia, often described as "distant", wanted a closer relationship with the people of Spain.
Felipe was enthroned as king of Spain in June after the surprise abdication of his father King Juan Carlos, with many hoping he can restore faith in the embattled monarchy.
The popularity of Spain's royals has fallen in recent times in the wake of scandals involving a luxury hunting trip taken by Juan Carlos in Africa during the height of the country's economic crisis and a fraud case involving Felipe's sister Cristina.
Spain's national parliament quickly pushed through legislation paving the way for Felipe to become head of state but a handful of small left-wing and nationalist parties opposed the bill and called for a referendum on the monarchy.
A recent survey by centre-left daily newspaper El País showed that nearly two-thirds of Spaniards, 62 percent, believe a referendum should be held "at some point" to decide whether Spain should continue to have a monarchy.
