The report states that a routine police patrol noticed a strong odour of marijuana plants while they were in a building on an unrelated matter.
After obtaining entry to the suspect's apartment, police found 40 cannabis plants and a small amount of narcotics in the home of a 24-year-old man.
A similar 'grow-room' operation was recently found in Vienna.
An acquaintance of the owner, a 27-year-old Innsbruck man, was also found with 48 grammes of the cannabis herb.
In follow-up enquiries, police additionally found another indoor cultivation with a larger amount of narcotics in the apartment of a 26-year-old man in the nearby town of Inzing.
The three suspects have now been charged with various drug-related activities, including illicit cultivation.
Cultivation and personal use of cannabis remains a crime in Austria that is punishable by up to ten years in prison.
