Top ten: Spain’s best beaches 2014

Spain doesn't exactly have a shortage of beaches: in fact, the most difficult part is often choosing which one you're going to visit.

To make the decision just a little easier, The Local has put together a collection of some of the best spots on Spain's glorious coastline.

Several of these — including the world-beating Playa de Ses Illetes in Formentera — were featured in the recent TripAdvisor list of the country's best beaches.

Others have been chosen for their sheer beauty, or unique character.

From secluded rocky coves to seemingly infinite stretches of sand, there is something here for everyone.
