Their arrest on Saturday came as anti-Semitic graffiti across the city mounted ahead of International Holocaust Day in memory of the victims of the Holocaust on Monday, Ansa news agency reported.

Boxes containing pigs' heads were also delivered to the city’s Israeli embassy and synagogue on Friday.

The police said one of the men was part of Militia, the extreme right-wing group, while the other was questioned as part of a probe into the neo-Nazi website, Stormfront. One of the two was also wearing a t-shirt with Olodogma.com, a Holocaust-denial website, printed on it.

They were arrested late on Saturday and charged with inciting racial hatred after writing phrases including “Holocaust lies”, “Hangmen Pacifists" and “Vile Sharon”.
