It has been a big week for news in Spain.

On Monday, the country's Education Minister José Ignacio Wert said Spain's Erasmus university exchange students wouldn't receive grants they had been promised for the 2013–2014 academic year.

Then on Wednesday, the ministry changed its mind and reinstated the grants.

Meanwhile in Madrid, a rubbish strike kicked off, and in Barcelona pharmacists downed tools over a stack of unpaid bills.

Elsewhere, we saw a mock nuclear war in Extremadura and Spain's Miss Universe representative Patricia Yurena Rodríguez strutted her stuff in Las Vegas.

And that's just for starters.

All in all, it makes fun some great images.
