The 59-year-old German met different heads of department at a morning meeting at IOC headquarters at the Chateau de Vidy, before having a face-to-face briefing with his predecessor Jacques Rogge on ongoing issues.

An official handover ceremony is planned at the Olympic Museum on December 10th.

Before then, Bach will make his first sortie as IOC president on September 29th to Olympia in Greece for the lighting of the Olympic flame for next year's Winter Games in Sochi.
