The week began on a high for people in Dresden who after years of waiting could finally drive across a new bridge over the river Elbe. But the bridge has been controversial and delayed by courts, bats and Unesco.
Our cute animal picture of the week is Zola, the two-year-old seal who has escaped her zoo enclosure and insists on hanging out with swans.
