Milan Mayor Giuliano Pisapia has denounced the plans, saying he is "very worried" about the festival, which is taking place on September 12th-14th.  He told Huffington Post Italia that he hopes the organizers,  the Far-right New Force (Forza Nuova), will scrap the event.

“Those who advocate fascism and nazism cannot be allowed to freely move around our city and our country. This is in the constitution and our laws,” he is quoted as saying.

New Force lists seven other groups attending, including the Swedish extreme-right youth movement Nordic Youth (Nordisk Ungdom) and Flemish nationalist group Outpost (Voorpost).

The gathering is described by the party on its blog as a conference held by European nationalist leaders, with “concerts of the most famous European nationalist bands” and where delegates can get tattoos.

Pisapia added that he will wait to see if the organizer's have second thoughts before taking any action.

“We’ll see if they have second thoughts. Otherwise we will use all legal measures to intervene and stop this insult to the city happening,” he warned.
