For the next three months, the two words you are most likely to hear on the streets of Spain are "Que calor!", or "It's so hot!"

From Tenerife to Teruel, people will be trying out all sorts of ways to escape the country's blistering temperatures.

They'll be fanning themselves, taking trips to the beach, visiting local pools and rolling down the shutters.
