Schwarzenegger is back at Geneva motor show

Schwarzenegger, 65, posed for photos with hostesses and checked out cars at stands ranging from Porsche to Ferrari.

On Sunday he was spotted cycling along the Geneva lakefront, near the Jardin anglais, an episode reported on by the 20 Minutes newspaper, which noted that he was accompanied by several body guards.

Schwarzenegger has appeared at the Geneva car show annually since 2010, combining visits to the Swiss city with business connected to Regions of Climate Action (R20), the non-profit environmental organization he founded.

R20’s headquarters are located in the Geneva municipality of Versoix.

The organization, dedicated to initiating regional action to counteract global warming, last month issued a “building efficiency guide for governments”, designed to inform officials about the benefits of energy-efficient buildings.

According to 20 Minutes, citing a fan of the actor who saw him near the lake, the actor stopped to have his photo taken in front of a Belle Epoque steamboat, moored near the embankment.

The newspaper quoted the source as saying that body guards prevented people from taking photos of Schwarzenegger by pushing them away.

But a spokesman from Schwarzenegger’s entourage told 20 Minutes he was forced to pedal away after feeling attacked by curious onlookers overexcited by their encounter.

The actor “accepts willingly to pose for photos but there it was not possible,” the spokesman is quoted as saying.

The Geneva car show, which expects to attract more than 700,000 visitors, runs until March 17th.
