The 25-year-old, who finished second in both the downhill and overall standings and third in the super-G in last season's World Cup, suffered more pain in his left knee which was operated on in the spring.
On his return to Bern, Professor H. U. Staubli said Feuz had sustained bruising to the bone of the left knee, but significantly no damage to the joint, meaning he will likely be able to ski again in three to four weeks.
"I'm lucky not to have a serious injury and I remain optimistic for the upcoming season," said Feuz, who in February won the pre-Olympic World Cup downhill in Russia at Rosa Khutor, the alpine ski race course for the 2014 Winter Olympics.
