In many parts of the country the outdoor swimming pool season begins on May 1 and pool operators are hoping for a better season than last year, which was dominated in part by cold and rainy weather.
The late April weather is a far cry from what it was just a few weeks ago, when weather experts noted that temperatures on Easter were colder than at Christmas.
While there might be a few scattered showers in the north and northwest of the country, a warm weather front moving in will push temperatures to between 24 and 29 degrees for much of the country, German weather forecasters said.
Sunbathers in the south should slop on the sunscreen on, as temperatures are expected to top out at 31 degrees. Those in the north and northwest will have highs of 17, the weather service said.
