Mother jailed for forcing daughter into prostitution

The woman, who has not been identified, will have to spend 18 months of her jail time in Zurich, said a report on the 20 Minuten daily.

According to the newspaper, the woman, a resident of Winterthur, offered her daughter’s sexual services in ads and then collected the payments.

The girl, now aged 26, was often beaten up and insulted by the older woman and her husband, who also threatened to put her in a psychiatric institution or abandon her in the street if she did not obey, the paper said.

The victim filed a complaint against her mother in February 2010, the report said.
