Berlin and Helsinki will complete the tour of matches and welcome the NHL stars in what is becoming a traditional curtain raiser for the NHL season.
The New York Rangers, Buffalo Sabres, Anaheim Ducks and Los Angeles Kings
will play two games each in Europe.
The Kings and Rangers will lock horns on October 7th in Stockholm while the
Sabres and Ducks play the same day in Helsinki, Finland.
The next day the Ducks and Rangers square off in Stockholm, while the Sabres and Kings will face off in Berlin’s new 02 World Arena.
The format is a change from the old system where teams played each other in the same venue two times.
“It’s going to be very exciting,” said Swedish Olympic goalie Henrik Lundqvist, who plays for the Rangers. “To go to Sweden is going to be very special.”
On October 4th, the Ducks play an exhibition game against the Finland’s Jokerit, the former club team of Ducks forward Teemu Selanne. The same day, the Kings play an exhibition game in Hamburg, Germany.
