The German Weather Service (DWD) said on Sunday that not only would the south and the west be hit by storms in the afternoon, but that these would spread over the rest of the country during the night.
This will set the trend for the rest of the week, with cooler temperatures and heavy rain showers to be expected. Berlin should reach a top temperature of 23 degrees on Monday, but with rain, while Hamburg, Rostock, Bremen and Hannover should expect between 17 and 19 degrees with heavy rain.
Leipzig, Dresden and Frankfurt should see temperatures of around 22 degrees with clouds but no rain, while Cologne will be wet with around 21 degrees. Munich, Nuremberg and Stuttgart should see around 23 degrees and patchy cloud cover.
“We have to say goodbye to permanently bright blue skies and with that, also the guaranteed dry conditions,” said a spokesman for the DWD.
Tuesday will be cloudy, with further showers and storms in the west and south.
