“Widespread damage to buildings is possible,” said the DWD, referring to coastal region stretching from the Frisian Islands near the Netherlands to Germany’s border with Denmark. “Trees could be uprooted and roof tiles, branches or other objects could be blown down.”
The meteorological service added that residents in coastal Lower Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein should be mindful of debris on the road.
The region is likely to experience high winds all day Wednesday with the storm dying down by late afternoon.
However, the rough weather system could move to Germany’s Baltic Sea region by Wednesday evening.
