It weighs a staggering 1,185 kilograms and was found on Sunday by Thomas Österberg and his friend.
Speaking to Sveriges Radio, Österberg said that it is the biggest meteorite ever found in Sweden, and most likely one of the biggest in Europe.
“The meteorite is egg-shaped, about a meter high and with a diameter of around 70 centimeters at its broadest,” he said.
The intrepid discoverers hope to sell the whopper to the Swedish Museum of Natural History.
“It must stay in Sweden”, Österberg told Sveriges Radio.
