The woman visited the doctors because of a mysteriously swollen abdomen and was simply told to lose weight. According to the woman, she visited her health clinic a total of five times but her requests for an ultrasound were repeatedly denied.
Finally, a private doctor performed an ultrasound and discovered a cyst which filled her whole abdomen. According to the Blekinge Läns Tidning newspaper, the cyst weighed eight kilos and has since been removed.
The “diet doctor” has since been reported to the Medical Responsibility Board (HSAN). Primary care manager PO Olsson told TT that he cannot comment on the case because of doctor-patient confidentiality.
The doctor in question is a temp, not a permanent employee.
